Match Report - Lansdown Griffins U11s

The rain stopped and the sun came out just in time to allow the Griffins match agains the U13 girls from Bath CC (the Spears) to go ahead. We won the toss and decided to bat first. Against a strong bowling attack the opening partnership of Ben and Benny set a great platform for Noah, Danny, Archie and Callum to build on and we were pleased with our total of 97 in 16 overs at a strike rate of a run a ball. Top scorers were Noah with 18 and Danny with 15 not out.

The Bath Spears were off to a flying start with two county batters hitting boundaries and keeping them well on target to win. Captain for the evening, Danny, bowled them both out in his one over and Alfie did the rest with both of them having figures of 2 wickets for 3 runs. Every player bowled except for Fergus behind the stumps and with a great team effort we managed to restrict the Spears to 72 for 6.

We're told by our sources that the Bath Spears did not lose a game last year so this was a fantastic start to the season.
