What personal data does Lansdown Cricket Club (LCC) collect?
The data we collect includes members’ names, addresses, email addresses and dates of birth, along with contact details for next of kin in case of emergency. We collect this data directly from our members.
For some of our members we may have additional information such as any health issues that are relevant to playing cricket, Board and sub-committee memberships and, occasionally, DBS checks done with your knowledge and permission.
What is this personal data used for?
We use members’ data for the administration of your membership; the communication of information and the organisation of matches and other events.
Who is your data shared with?
For members under the age of 16 the parent of guardians information will be shared, on reaching 16 the players personal data may also be shared so:
• Leagues where you have been nominated for / agree to play for a League
• The ECB where you are registered for or express an interest in an ECB programme
• The County Cricket Board that supports the local Cricket Club whose programmes you have registered for
• Coaches and junior co-ordinators for administrating training sessions
• Volunteers who work at cricket clubs/venues to support the delivery of sessions.

Where does this data come from?
Data for all of our members comes from their membership forms at the time they joined, with their updates.
How is your data stored?
Most of our data, including our main membership database, is stored in digital form on computers.
Who is responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations?
Under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) we do not have a statutory requirement to have a Data Protection Officer. The Management Committee is responsible for ensuring that LCC discharges its obligations under the GDPR and is responsible for maintaining a log of data breaches and notifying any members affected as necessary, in accordance with our legal obligations.
Who has access to your data?
Members of the LCC Management Committee have access to members’ data in order for them to carry out their legitimate tasks, such as responding to enquiries from those members. Members of the Management Committee and its sub- committees will be given access to this data for any legitimate purpose to do with their roles as officers of the organisations or members of their committees, but will not be free to pass it on to any other organisation.
What is the legal basis for collecting this data?
LCC collects personal data that is necessary for the purposes of its legitimate interests as a membership organisation and as the authority of an internationally recognised and regulated, competitive sport. Personnel data is kept in compliance with our legal obligations.
How you can check what data we have about you?
If you want to see the basic membership data we hold about you, you can email enquiries@lansdowncricketclub.co.uk to see it.
Does LCC collect any “special” data?
The GDPR refers to sensitive personal data as “special categories of personal data”. LCC does not collect any such data.
How can you ask for data to be removed, limited or corrected?
Please contact enquiries@lansdowncricketclub.co.uk to make any updates to your data, or if you want it removed. Clearly if it is removed, you will no longer receive any communications from the Club.
How long we keep your data for, and why?
We normally keep members’ data after they resign or their membership lapses.
This is because we find members sometimes later wish to re-join (occasionally after several decades). However, we will delete any former member’s contact details entirely on request.
What happens if a member dies?
We normally keep members’ information after they die. If requested by their next-of- kin to delete it we will do so on the same basis as when requested to remove data by a former member.
Code of Conduct for all LCC Members and Guests
As players and members of Lansdown Cricket Club (“the Club”), we understand that we
represent not only ourselves but also the club and its values.
Lansdown Cricket Club adopts and adheres to the ECB the ECB Anti-Discrimination Code of
Conduct 2023 (and any future versions of this policy).
It is essential that we uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship, integrity, and respect.
The following code of conduct outlines the expectations for all players and members. However, we as a Club, expect all visitors to adhere to the same code.
