A strong performance is what we got, with Tom Henly and Ollie Gooding reunited back opening the bowler they both struck early in their spells reducing the opposition to 28-2. From then on it was tight economical bowling all round putting ongoing pressure on the opposition. With all 6 bowlers picking up wickets it was a fantastic effort from our bowling attack and backed up by some excellent fielding. Spinning duo Sam Bowery and George Wood bowling particularly well in tandem with Sam picking up 3-22 and George 2-9 off his 5 overs. Particular mention to Nick Lawrence who picked 1-15 off his 7 overs, showing great maturity as he continues to impress in senior cricket. This top effort by the team resulted in Bishopston setting us a target of 121 to chase down.
On the back of this great bowling performance, we took this confidence and positivity into our batting display. Danny Poole opening the batting this time with partner Dan Veal, they both dominated the Bishopston's bowling attack from the outset. Together they put on 85 runs for the first wicket and by this point the damage was done. With Jack Betenson joining Dan in the middle he continued where Danny left off. A fine batting display by Dan saw him carry his bat and ending not out with 61 runs with Danny and Jack with 25/26 respectively.
It was one of the most comprehensive displays shown by the team this season and a fantastic result after the last couple of weeks. The squad continues to train well, and these kind of performances are a product of their hard work. It's gives us a great platform to build momentum over the coming weeks!
