up at Combe Park.

With our luck finally running out at the toss, the visitors hesitantly made the decision to bowl first, a decision we looked to capitalise upon.

A slight change in personnel in this week's team saw Danny Poole opening the batting with Adam Carlin, and together they built a strong foundation for the innings. Danny Poole adding yet more runs to his tally this season, however he was unfortunate to lose his wicket just before he could reach the half century mark ending up on 46. Steady and solid batting then followed from Jack Betenson which saw him through the rest of the innings with an unbeaten 50 runs of his own. In partnership with Dan Veal, the stand out batsman of the day with a fantastic knock of 83 not out of 62 deliveries, displaying some impressive clean striking of a cricket ball. This flurry of boundaries towards the end of innings took us to our final total of 208/3.

We took to the field with confidence after a solid batting display, however knowing that a strong bowling performance would still be required. That confidence somewhat wavered as the opening pair of Bohemians came out in full attacking mode with 48 runs on the board by the 5th over. Turning early to leg spinner Sam Bowery, the breakthrough came in that very same over removing the more dangerous of the two openers. From there 2 quick wickets fell for just 2 runs, and the game began to look very different with the opposition on 50-3. Thanks to some very consistent bowling from both spinners Sam Bowery and Louis Mancini, they each picked up 2 wickets apiece. After a tough start for Ollie Gooding with the ball, he came back superbly with a fantastic second spell that resulted in him picking up 4 wickets of his own for the match. With only 4 recognised bowlers in the team, we had to turn to part time bowler Dan Veal to assist. It was therefore only fitting after his batting display that he picked up the final wicket, giving us our fourth consecutive win in the league.

After previous batting displays, it is great to see the progression in performances. It's only been a short amount of time, however it's going from strength to strength and we're extremely keen to ensure this upward curve in performances continues. We've also identified and got some key areas to focus on coming into this week's training sessions to ensure every aspect of our game continues to improve. With our attention also turning to the 3rd round of the Somerset T20 KO Cup, there is a very exciting week of cricket ahead for the 2nd XI squad as we look to continue our success into the coming weekend's game against Bitton CC.
