Having lost the toss, Lansdown were sent into bat on what looked to be a wicket that would be bowler friendly. We got off to an average start, losing both openers relatively early, however this brought Connor Brown to the crease. Connor showed his class and maturity as he accumulated his way to a fine century- his second of the season. He shared a huge partnership of 118 with George Scott, who again delivered with a brutal 89, including 5 huge sixes - some phenomenal striking. This took the total to 299, a complete batting display.
Cheltenham’s reply never really got going, as wickets fell constantly throughout the innings, mainly thanks to a bowling spell of the highest quality by Ash Allen, producing figures of 5-19. This ended the innings for only 109, meaning Lansdown took the full 22 points. This was our first full, complete performance, hugely satisfying to be a part of and the beers on the outfield after certainly tasted good. Plenty of hard work to come and we look forward to a big game vs Downend at home this Saturday.
