The Major Cup Final saw Ilminster bat first and were soon in trouble against Lansdown as Tambavekar (2-9) removed both Hurford and Warry without scoring.

Vickery and Kraucamp slowly re built the innings rotating the strike well but progress was slow as Lansdown remained in the box seat. Kraucamp increased the run rate taking a liking to Croker dipositing him for two huge sixes over the Andy Caddick Pavilion whilst Vickery struggled to up his tempo. Kraucamp reached a fine 50 but fell soon afterwards caught in the deep by Croker off the bowling of Hankins for 52 in a stand of 99 with Vickery. Soon after Vickery fell for 46 bowled by Price (1-23) and it was left to Lee and Davis to get Ilminster to what looked like a below par 120 for 4.

The reply saw Lansdown lose skipper Hankins without scoring but Jenkins and Jordan Smith we positive and found the boundary with a certain ease. The pair added 66 and had the required run rate under 6 an over with many thinking the game was over. However, Vickery (2-24) removed Jenkins for 29 and Smith for 38 in quick succession before Grinter (2-13) got Croker and Tambaveker to put the game back in the balance. Jordan Price looked to have settled any nerves hitting a rapid 24 including two huge sixes over the Ian Botham Stand into the River Tone but he hauled out in the deep with 16 required and he was quickly followed by Josh Smith to setup a tense finish. Dan Veal with Addey kept their heads edging Lansdown ever closer to the victory target and won the game after the Ilminster keeper Josh Lee missed the ball and it flew to the boundary for 4 byes to see the team from Bath a 3 wicket win.

Louis Kraucamp was awarded the man of the match award for his classy 52 but it was Lansdown beaten finalists in 2015 who were left celebrating their first Major Cup title since 1980.
