Join us at Combe Park this Sunday 5th September for the Lansdown vs Bath over 30s match

This Sunday 5th September, Combe Park plays host to some of the legends of local cricket as Lansdown take on Bath in an Over 30’s T20 match.

‘The John Downey Memorial Cup’ reaches its climax this weekend with the Over 30’s competing in the last of the 2021 matches. With the score delicately poised at one all, there is all to play for to see who will take home the Trophy which was hotly contested for the first-time last year.

In its second season, the competition between Lansdown and Bath is played in the name of John Downey, a legendary cricketing figure who captained both clubs. John sadly passed away in early 2020.

Sunday afternoon will be a great opportunity to watch some of Bath most successful cricketers – with multiple Western League titles amongst them. Names such as Barnes, Albery, Copsey, Emery (awaiting late fitness test), Summers, Sheppard, Shrubsole, Priscott, Griffiths and Roe all look set to be in action so it looks set to be a high-quality match.

The Outside Bar will be open, the BBQ will be in action and there will be friends from over many decades to catch up with.

It’s going to be a cracking day, so please do join us at Combe Park. Everyone is welcome.

The match starts at 1pm.

See you then!
