Junior and senior members of Lansdown Cricket Club gathered at the club’s Combe Park ground to celebrate the opening of a new £30,000 practice net facility, marking a significant investment in the future of cricket at the club.

The facility was officially opened by guest of honour Jayne Mee, Chair of the Somerset Cricket Foundation, who expressed her delight at the club’s achievement and congratulated everyone involved in bringing the project to fruition.

Speaking at the event, Club President Mark Hobbs-Shoulder highlighted the benefits the new facility will bring to players across the club.

“This facility will enable our coaches to work with junior and senior players, both girls, women, boys and men, to develop and enhance skills in a safe environment. Our mission is to provide a quality experience for all players.”

The project was made possible thanks to essential funding from the Medlock Trust, The Tony Coles Trust, and the Somerset Cricket Foundation, alongside support from leading cricket equipment supplier Tildenet.

The new practice nets will provide high-quality training facilities for players of all ages and abilities, helping Lansdown Cricket Club continue its commitment to developing cricket opportunities within the local community.
