Lansdown Cricket Club Bicentenary Ball: A Brilliant Celebration at Bath Racecourse

Paula Hobbs-Shoulder28 Sep - 09:19

Lansdown Cricket Club marked its 200th anniversary with a spectacular Bicentenary Ball held at Bath Racecourse — and what a night it was!

From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere was electric. A delicious meal set the tone for the evening, but it was the **singing waiters** who truly stole the show early on, surprising everyone and injecting a burst of energy that had the whole room buzzing.

The **Auction of Promises**, led with flair by **James Dixon** and **Tom Boyce**, was a standout moment. With just six prizes, the auction raised an incredible **£3,000** for the club’s chosen charities — a testament to the generosity of attendees and the charisma of the hosts.

Guests also enjoyed the ever-popular **Heads and Tails** game, which brought everyone together in a fun and lively competition.

As the night continued, the brilliant band **Souled Out** took to the stage and kept the dance floor packed until the very end. Their high-energy performance ensured the celebration ended on a high note, with guests dancing and singing along late into the night.

So many people have said how brilliant the evening was — from the entertainment to the venue, and the joy of celebrating away from the club itself. It was a night full of laughter, music, and community spirit, perfectly honouring 200 years of Lansdown Cricket Club.

We have so many pictures from the evening to continue our memories - click here to view the album.

Here’s to the next chapter in our club’s proud history!
